Okay, here it is!
A list of paper topics to wow your teachers. Yes, I realize that
some of these may have already been brought up in class, but hopefully
there will be some new one's to make you think! Good Luck!
- Fair
is Foul and Foul is Fair - As far as I am concerned, this
is the best topic to write about because of the vast amount
of information to choose (as you can see from what was said in
Huh, what did they say?). Things not being as what they seem
is the main focus of Macbeth, so the possibilities are
endless.
- Compare
and contrast Macbeth and Lady Macbeth - Show how Macbeth and Lady
Macbeth are similar in character and what sets them apart. This
can be somewhat tricky at first, but look at how each reacts to the
thought of killing before the butchery starts and after the body
count begins to rise. Both characters begin to take on the
characteristics of the other, so a comparison can be made between
the characters before and after.
- Compare
and contrast Macbeth and Banquo - The differences are obvious, but
can you find the similarities? Look at the two in the beginning
(mainly their loyalty) and then look at how once they say they will
do something, they keep their word (Macbeth murders and notice how
Banquo said he would attend the feast at Macbeth's. Even in
death he kept his promise: he showed up as a ghost). Play with this
idea and see what you come up with.
- Does
fate control our actions or does man? - Hmmm, this one is a real
thought provoker! Look at the prophecies of the witches. Do
they predict what Macbeth will do or do they merely plant
a seed that Macbeth allows to grow. Read closely and support
your answers with what all the characters say and their actions.
